DIRECTORY OF INDUSTRIES 1947 ILLINOIS TERMINAL RAILROAD

This 100 page Volume of Statistical Information was given to me by my life long friend John McInnes' dad, George F. McInnes, while I was a teenager shortly before the demise of the Illinois Terminal's mainline passenger operations on March 3, 1956. It has been part of my collection for well over 50 years. It is now time (2008) to make it available to all historians who treasure the very existence of the Illinois Terminal.

This book features many of the St. Louis & Suburban 4'-10" gauge private right-of-way lines that became part of St. Louis' United Railways, after 1927 to be the St. Louis Public Service Company. Also included is the Standard Gauge Waterworks Line that lasted until April 1955. There are also other lines that were built to promote real estate. In the back is a track diagram of all the carbarns that existed on the St. Louis Streetcar System. There will also be a carline abandonment date roster in the book. It will be added to this volume over time and will be sent to all who have purchased the book previously. Included is also a track map circa 1963 of the last lines in service that were finally abandoned on May 21, 1966.
